Nancy Caire Miller

             Nancy Miller has been involved as an advocate for the protection of water resources and improved stormwater management in Leon County for the past fifteen years. Since its inception in 2003, Nancy has been the Project Coordinator for the City of Tallahassee’s TAPP – Think About Personal Pollution Campaign. She has Master’s degrees in Biology and Urban and Regional Planning and currently works as a planning consultant on projects regarding growth management and water quality. 

           In 2007, she was awarded the Watershed Champion Award by the Tallahassee- Leon County Watershed Management Policy Board. Nancy serves on the Tallahassee -Leon County Planning Commission, the Blueprint 2000 Citizens’ Advisory Committee, the Leon County Water Resources Citizens’ Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors of the Apalachicola Riverkeeper and the Apalachee Land Conservancy.

John Cox, the Program Manager for the City of Tallahassee Stormwater Pollution Reduction Program, supervises stormwater education, including the TAPP program, for the Tallahassee Stormwater Management Group. John received his Bachelor of Science from the School of Natural Resources at Ohio State University in 1973 and has been working in the field of stormwater and water quality management since that time.  John is primarily responsible for the development of a program to reduce the effect of inadequately treated runoff on the lakes and streams throughout the City of Tallahassee.

            Prior to joining the Stormwater Management Division with the City, John worked with the Stormwater and Nonpoint Source Management Section of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation (FDEP) for 23 years.  He is one of the principal authors of the standards and specifications contained in the Statewide Stormwater Rule 62-25 FAC. and the Florida Development Manual.  He is well experienced with the history and evolution of Florida's policies, regulations, and engineering guidelines regarding the protection of water quality from stormwater discharges.

         Native to Tallahassee, SarahKeith Valentine is interested in local environmental issues and is constantly encouraged to learn that more and more families and businesses are “going green.” SarahKeith did her undergraduate studies at WarrenWilsonCollege in Asheville, N.C., and received her Master’s in Environmental Science from Florida A&M University in 2008.  Currently, SarahKeith is working as a City of Tallahassee TAPP representative and loving every minute of it.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, volunteering at a local farm, swimming, canoeing, and otherwise taking advantage of North Florida’s beautiful water bodies.
