John Cox, the Program Manager for the City of Tallahassee Stormwater Pollution Reduction Program, supervises stormwater education, including the TAPP program, for the Stormwater Management Division. John received his Bachelor of Science from the School of Natural Resources at Ohio State University in 1973 and has been working in the field of stormwater and water quality management since that time. John is primarily responsible for the development of a program to reduce the effect of inadequately treated runoff on the lakes and streams throughout the City of Tallahassee.
Prior to joining the Stormwater Management Division with the City, John worked with the Stormwater and Nonpoint Source Management Section of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation (FDEP) for 23 years. He is one of the principal authors of the standards and specifications contained in the Statewide Stormwater Rule 62-25 FAC. and the Florida Development Manual. He is well experienced with the history and evolution of Florida's policies, regulations, and engineering guidelines regarding the protection of water quality from stormwater discharges.
